Shoshone Falls

Shoshone Falls, towering at 212 feet and known as the “Niagara of the West,” is a spectacular natural wonder on the Snake River in Idaho. Surpassing the height of Niagara Falls, it’s one of the largest natural waterfalls in the United States. The best time to view the falls is during spring and early summer when water flows are high. The surrounding park offers recreational facilities, including hiking trails and picnic areas, providing a perfect vantage point for viewing the falls.

The Drive

Accessible from a short drive from Twin Falls, along a well-maintained road, leading directly to a spacious parking area near the viewing points.

The Hike

A brief, easy walk from the parking area leads to various viewpoints, offering spectacular views of the falls.

The Falls

Shoshone Falls dramatically descends 200 feet, stretching across a 900-foot-wide basalt cliff into the Snake River, presenting a truly magnificent display.

Don’t Forget

A $5 vehicle fee applies for accessing the park (March 1st to September 30th). Check the park’s opening hours, as they vary seasonally.
